CNN affiliate WTSP reported that Shibuya in Japan has banned the sale of a foot massagers.
A Japanese company called Shibuyan Products announced that it has stopped selling the foot massages that were advertised on its website.
The company said it was working with law enforcement officials.
Shibuyans website says it has suspended the sale.
A spokesperson for the company said that it will work with the authorities to determine the cause of the issue.
“We have asked for the authority to suspend the sale until we have information on the issue,” the spokesperson said.
The spokesperson added that the company is currently in talks with law enforcers.
Shibuya said it has notified its customers that it was banning the sale and it is not aware of any incidents related to the product.
Shigetomo, which is based in Yokohama, has been selling the Shibuai series of massagers for about five years.
It said it is working with the local government to regulate the use of the massagers, but it said it does not plan to make any changes to its products.
